Capital infrastructure projects are essential for schools because they improve the safety, functionality, and overall quality of learning environments, while also benefiting the broader community.
Upgrades such as new classrooms, sporting facilities, libraries, or performance spaces not only enhance student learning and well-being but also create opportunities for community use. These improved spaces can host local events, support commercial enterprise opportunities, recreational activities, and public meetings, making schools valuable community hubs. By investing in Framlingham's infrastructure, the local community can benefit from shared spaces that foster stronger connections, support lifelong learning, and promote community engagement, all while supporting the educational success of future generations.
Creating better learning environments: Ultimately Capex projects improve the infrastructure, leading to a safer, more comfortable, and more engaging learning environments for students.

Supporting long-term growth and sustainability: Investing in capex projects enables schools to adapt to future needs, supporting the sustainable long-term success of the school and its community.
We remain extremely grateful for the support we have received in recent years, predominantly from legacies as well as from grant funding provided by The Society of Old Framlinghamians. This support, has enabled us to enhance our facilities for pupils, staff and the wider Framlingham College community, examples of which out highlighted in the section below.

Paul’s Court (2014): As part of our 150th anniversary in 2014, funds were generously donated by OF’s and by The Society of Old Framlinghamians, enabling us to create the extraordinary space in Paul’s Court and the 6th Form Centre, both of which are used for pupil, parent, staff and OF led events and activities as well as for hosting school match teas.

Athlone Hall, The Headmaster Porter Theatre (2006): Walter Stanley Porter was the Headmaster at Framlingham College from 1955 until 1971. Walter left a substantial legacy that enabled the tired Athlone Hall to be completely transformed into the impressive, modern-day Headmaster Porter Theatre in 2006.

Inskips Hockey Pitch (2024): As part of our ongoing commitment to hockey at Framlingham we recently re-laid Inskips, and whilst this was part of our ongoing capex program, we were extremely grateful to have received donations from The OF Society as well as the wider College community including a legacy from John Edwards whose name now stands proudly on our new dugouts pitch side.

The Fowler Pavilion (2017): Funding for the Fowler Pavilion is largely thanks to a substantial legacy bestowed upon Framlingham College from the estate of Yela Fowler. Yela made the donation in loving memory of her late husband, Derek Fowler (G 1935-40), through the Society of Old Framlinghamians.
Moving forward, we have several projects that are currently being assessed as part of our wider capital infrastructure strategy, however, a key project across both the College and Prep school sites are our cricketing facilities.
Further information will be circulated in due course, outlining our specific facility requirements at both sites as well as how you get get involved. There will be opportunities to support the campaign on a broad range of levels, including opportunities for naming rights on facilities at both the Prep and Senior school. If you would like to discuss how you can support this initiative, please do contact Andrew Cook, our Director of Development.
