Welcome to the Framlingham Foundation.
The history of Framlingham College is, in many ways, a tale of philanthropy and kindness. Its origins reflect the gratitude of Queen Victoria for her husband’s life, and its continuing existence reflects the impact of philanthropic support over the years.
Our benefactors continue to support the school through donations and legacies, allowing us to create life changing transformational bursary provision for children from socially disadvantaged backgrounds, provide up to date equipment and to help finance major infrastructure projects. Indeed, the generosity of our benefactors is a vital part of our efforts to ensure that future generations of Framlinghamians can continue to benefit from the extraordinary lifelong opportunities and education that the College provides.
With the UK’s current political and economic pressures building, it is critical – now more than at any time in our history – to develop a financial model which will preserve our philanthropic heritage and sustain the College long into the future, whilst providing an environment for our pupils to thrive and develop the necessary qualities to become future leaders and positive influencers in society.
“I am very proud that our family relationship spans over 100 years of College life. I feel I was very privileged that my father chose the College for my education. I am fortunate that I am now in a position to support the College both financially and by attending the various OF functions.”
- John Thurlow, OF (Kerrison 1955) & Former Governor
