After 36 years at Framlingham College, Martin Myers-Allen will be stepping down from his full-time role at the school, leaving a legacy of extraordinary achievement and contribution to the life of the College.
Over the years, many of you will have known Martin in a variety of guises, from Head of the Prep School (twice) to Housemaster of Kerrison, Head of the CCF to Chemistry and Biology teacher, Head of the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme to mastermind of our Sports Day, and Vice President of the Society of Old Framlinghamians to Development Director and creator of the Sixth Form Bursary fund.
Lt Col Martin Myers-Allen
Martin is an integral part of the life of the College and as such he has had a significant influence on many of us as individuals, and on all of us as a community. In short, Martin is Framlingham College, he upholds our values and is passionate about education both within and beyond the classroom. His warmth, his sense of humour, his ability to enthuse, persuade and cajole, his high expectations and immense work ethic are just a few of the qualities that you will no doubt think of when thinking of Martin.
The College intends to mark Martin’s contribution to the College and retirement by presenting him with a gift at Speech Day this year. Should you wish to contribute to this gift, we would like to invite you to make your contribution by clicking the donate button below. The closing date for contributions to this collection is Friday 12 June.
We will be hosting a variety of events to say goodbye to Martin, but importantly, and perhaps unsurprisingly, he will be back with us in September, albeit in a part time role, still leading the CCF and the DofE amongst other things!
